El Centro’s main foci are project-based learning, internships, and strong relationships between students and staff. The school practices trauma informed care, meaning that we work diligently with students to help them be successful. We have 3 Resiliency Specialists on staff who assist students with various needs; individual and group counseling, outside counseling , and resources to sustain everyday life.
All students are required to develop a postsecondary plan with help from the staff. The goal is for every student to graduate with a high school diploma and continue being successful in life. Success looks different for everyone and therefore, the school helps soon-to-be graduates with college or trade school admission and/or job applications. When students graduate from El Centro, the staff stays in communication with them and their families to assist in postsecondary process if needed. El Centro graduates are always able to return to El Centro for assistance.
